Difference between Console cable and network cable

Console cables and network cables are two different cables for different purposes, and they have some differences in their functions and characteristics.

1. Usage: Console cable is mainly used for serial console connection of computer devices and network devices for configuration and management of the devices. 5. Transmission rate: The transmission rate of Console cable is generally low, usually 115200bps or lower. This is because Console cables are mainly used for device configuration and management, and the requirements for console output and input are not too high. And the transmission rate of the network cable can vary according to different Ethernet standards, commonly 10Mbps, 100Mbps, 1Gbps or even higher.

6. Network protocols: Console cables do not depend on any network protocols, they are mainly used for console connection and command line configuration of devices. While the network cable relies on the Ethernet protocol for data transmission and routing through Ethernet switches.

7. Connection interface: Console cable usually uses DB9 or RJ45 interface to connect with the console port of the device. And the network cable usually uses RJ45 connector to connect with the Ethernet port of the computer, server, switch and other devices.
